Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) lets you launch AWS resources into a virtual network that resembles a traditional network, with the added benefits of using the scalable infrastructure of AWS. This is what you’ll be focusing on in this Playground.
To start, you’ll learn about bastion host, which can be thought of as a special purpose machine which has been configured to provide high-level network security.
Next, we’ll be covering VPC peering. This is a type of connection between two VPCs that enables you to route traffic between them using private IPv4 addresses or IPv6 addresses.
Finally, you’ll learn how to perform VPC mirroring, which is a feature that lets you copy network traffic from an elastic network interface of type ‘interface’.
All of these are taught as hands-on lessons where you’ll follow step-by-step instructions. At the end of this Playground, you’ll have real-world skills in configuring Amazon VPC functions in detail.
